At The Well

Jesus meets a woman at a well… big deal right? RIGHT!

That was her well… He didn’t construct a big intimidating well and sit there saying if you want to encounter God you must come to my very special well, oh and by the way my well is only open on Sundays and Wednesdays during certain hours.

He went to her well, and waited there. What? Jesus actually waited for someone, he hung out at someone else’s well even though they weren’t there? That’s ridiculous! What was he thinking? He should know better than to spend time at “that” well. Only certain kind of people would go there, and God forbid someone saw him with the type of people that hang out at that kind of well, he might get a reputation.

No, no, I think we’ll do just find here at “our well.” You know it’s nice, comfortable, and safe here at our well. If people need water, the kind we offer then they’ll clean themselves up and find it on their own. When they get here, then we’ll explain that this is the living water that they’ve needed all along and how happy we are that they finally came and showed up.

  2. Dude, I loved that concept of waiting at the well. That will preach and I am stealing it!
