A Throw Back

In just a few days my beautiful bride and I will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. It is honestly quite amazing how much has changed. We were a young 22 and 24 when we exchanged vows. We were heading into full-time ministry at Amor as a married couple and moved to the great… cough… cough… state of Texas.

It was a hard first year… we went from living in beautiful southern California, to living in the dry desert of west Texas… let me clarify, the real west Texas… as west as you can go… El Paso. Talk about a change of scenery. Palm Trees, cool ocean breeze, customer service… to… 110 degree summers, hot dusty wind, serious lack of customer service.

That was the first year… now we call El Paso home. It has been a long and interesting journey, but we love where we live now. We have some great friends here, more like family for us, since our family is smarter and live in more friendly climates. We serve at a wonderful church, and we have wonderful kids who constantly crack us up and keep us on our toes.

The years ahead prove to be as exciting as the last 11. My wife will soon be graduating. Her new found role will open up doors for us to extend our ministry. We look forward to what the Lord has in store for us.

He has been faithful to us, what did we expect, and we strive to be faithful to him. We fall short sure, but isn’t he amazing, he’s right there to set us back up on the saddle again, and encourage to give it another go.

We love our Lord… and as our friend Sid (the sloth) says… “He Completes Us.”
