Leaving Westside

Yesterday was our last day at Westside Church of Christ. Staying a the same congregation for eleven years for Anne is the longest in her life. Since graduation from highschool this has also been the longest amount of time I have stayed anywhere.

Anne and I moved to El Paso and began attending Westside just a few months after we were married. Much of who we are has become while at Westside. Our children were born while we were at Westside. Our life and ministry has been closely tied to Westside, so yesterday was hard.

Many people shared kind words and memories of our time there.

God works in amazing ways. Arriving in El Paso so many years ago we would have never imagined being here this long for one, but to be on staff at a church was even further out of our minds, and now staying in El Paso and helping start a movement of churches here, wow, what is the Man upstairs doing. The life of a Christ follower is anything but predictable or boring.

We are excited, nervous and in awe of what God will do over the years.

  1. You two have made a huge impact at Westside. That congregation is better off due to the ministry you two have done.
