The perfect worship experience
In the Tangible Kingdom they discuss a lot of things about how we live as followers of Jesus and how that is fleshed out in the church setting. On page 164 they talk about the idea of worship and how in general it has been cornered into a “stage, trained singers, overheads, and well-choreographed vocal worship… to connect with God”
He then says, “I’ve never found it that helpful to worship through singing, especially in front of people.” – Can I get an AMEN.
Then he says what a “perfectly fitted worship experience would be for him (and me for that matter… “it would be a 5:30am moment, the sun peeking up over the grove of fresh-smelling pine trees, cool 45-degree air, my Copper Mountain coffee mug full of Seattle’s Best coffee, and the sound of bagpipes echoing an ancient hymn over my outstretched fly rod. That would do it for me every time.”
Oh I like that.
